Forum Questions – Inclusivity, and Equality

Equality, Equity, and Inclusivity are topics that I care a great deal about. I am well aware of my privilege – I am a cis-gendered, heterosexual, white male. My privilege resides not in the fact that I have been given a specific benefit, but rather that I have not been deprived of a benefit. We need to be cognizant of our privilege, and to ensure we are using it to benefit everyone else even before ourselves.

Forum Questions – Diversity and Inclusion – Truth and Reconciliation

Many good questions were asked during the All-Candidates Forum. Due to time constraints not all were able to be addressed. Candidates were provided a list of all the questions posed, answered or not. Some questions deserve to be answered and I will do my best to address them all.

One question asked during the forum deserves more time, energy, and thought from every single one of the candidates running for office. Truth and Reconciliation is deserving of real thought, concrete action, and a great deal more energy than has been afforded to it so far.

Diversity and Inclusion is a topic near and dear to my heart as I have many friends and family who are members of marginalized communities. My goal in life, and as a political candidate, is to earn the title of “ally.” This is not one that can be claimed but must be earned. It can be revoked at any time, and I will continue to do my darnedest to earn that title every single day.
