I wish my wife wouldn’t always agree with me. 

For example, just once, I would like her to tell me I’m wrong when I call myself an idiot.

I don’t know why the US insists on living out the stupidest timeline and dragging the rest of the world with it.

Friends are enemies.

Enemies are friends.

News is fake.

Reality TV is news.

Fascism is en vogue.

Empathy is weakness.

I can’t say it’s upside-down because I don’t know which way is up anymore.

At dinner today as we all were having a good time snd laughing, my 2 year old declared that “Mommy funny.” And then “Daddy sad.”

I wasn’t.

But I might be now. How did she become the funny one?

The company that sells “F$ck Trump” also sells “Trump forever” merchandise. They also sell “51st state” and “Canada is not for sale.”

This is capitalism. They don’t care about the conflict or picking a side. They will freely profit from anyone. But they need us to pick a side so they can profit.

This is capitalism. It has no morals, no ethics, no feelings, and no loyalty other than to self and money.

There is another way. It is one rooted in community first. Not nationalism. Not individualism. But community and caring. It is about looking after the best interests of everyone. And it for damn sure isn’t conservatism.

You know what I was doing 10 years ago? Being lonely. 

9 years ago, though, I was revelling in the fact that the day before I went on a most fantastic first date.
